Whether we are selecting the finest worsted woollens from our favourite Yorkshire miller or putting the finishing touches on our woven silk ties from Suffolk, we have a great eye for detail in everything we do at E. Tautz. We truly believe we are making the best British products which will continue to look better and better with age, and want our customers to agree.

Below you will find answers to the most common questions we receive. Of course we haven't been able to cover everything, so if there is any other why we can help please do give us a call at our workshop.


Do I have to be based in the UK to buy products from your shop?

No, of course not. While we are currently only able to supply department stores in a few countries with our main collection, all the beautiful things you see on the website are available for delivery in the following countries:

  • UK: including Channel Islands, Isle of Man.
  • Europe: Albania, Andorra, Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lichtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, Vatican City.

Should you wish for items to be sent to an address in a country not listed above, please pop us an email and we will do our best to work something out.

How much will my delivery cost?

Well that very much depends on how quickly would like to receive your goods and where you live. We love customers choosing our products, so we now offer free standard shipping on all orders, however if you're in a hurry to get your hands on your new items we also offer express delivery.

How long will standard delivery take?
  • UK: 3-4 working days
  • Rest of EU: 5-7 working days
  • USA and Canada: 10 working days
  • Rest of the world: 10 working days
How much will express delivery cost?
  • UK: £6.00, 1-2 working days
  • Rest of the EU: £13, 3-5 working days
  • USA and Canada: £20, 7-10 working days
  • Rest of the world: £30.00, 7-10 working days

If you live in a country outside the EU you may be asked to pay import duty on your Tautz purchase. Unfortunately these can vary greatly, and hence we are unable to cover this if so. Please take a look at our Terms and Conditions for further details.

What happens if I'm not in to receive me delivery?

Our couriers are considerate fellows, and will leave a little card in your letterbox with details of how to collect your package or rearrange a delivery.


How can I pay for the items I find on the website?

Should you have stepped into the original 19th Century house of Tautz you likely might have found a gentleman using every excuse in the book to avoid paying off his tailor's line of credit. In this modern age however we are happy to accept the following credit and debit cards:

Switch, Visa, Delta, Maestro, MasterCard

Should plastic be not to your taste we are more than happy to accept cash in person at our workshop on the row, providing you phone us up to arrange a time and make sure your desired wares are in stock

Is my payment secure?

We handle all our card transactions through Sage Pay who operate an absolutely watertight system. Please take a look at our Privacy policy for more information.

Returns and exchanges

What is your returns policy?

We love the beautiful things we are making here at Tautz. When something is hand finished in the finest British fabrics we believe it to be a joy both to wear and to look at. However we deplore the idea of anyone keeping anything we've made which wasn't quite right for them. Therefore if you want to return any of the items you have purchased for any reason, you can do so within 3 months.

We don't even mind if you've tried on the item. We will give you full refund, or are happy to exchange it for something more suitable. Alas we cannot refund the original postage, but if you would like to choose something else from our online collection we will send this out to you free of charge. If it's a refund you are after this will have to be made onto the original card used for the purchasing.

How do I return something for refund or exchange?

There should be a little card in an envelope enclosed in the packet we sent you. Inside it should be the necessary instructions covering estimated postage costs and where to return the items to.

If said little card has gone astray please pen us a quick note which you can enclose in the returns package with your name, address and contact number. If you have your eye on another item on the website and would like an exchange, please give us the name of the replacement garment. It would also be very helpful to know the reason for the return.

You don't have to notify us you are returning the item, just package it up (including the little card) and send to:

How long will it take to process my return or exchange?

No one likes waiting around for things, so we will aim to process your return as soon as possible upon receiving your package. However our workshop gets very busy at times, so we ask you to give us a maximum turnaround of 28 days.
